As the Regional Head, Anil’s work entails working with the private sector to create sustainable impact – both large companies driving down to the base of the pyramid as well as small companies scaling up. Anil has been with IFC for about 22 years and started his career as an Investment Officer based in Harare, Zimbabwe. He was the Managing Director of an International Project Management and Consulting company before joining IFC. He has lived and worked in Africa, East Asia and South Asia and also in the UK and US. He started his career in the UK in 1974 and has more than 35 years of experience in private sector development.

Aparajita Ramakrishnan has been with BMGF since 2003, where she has worn several hats from managing the Avahan program in Karnataka and the Northeast to donor management, advocacy and communications. Previously, Aparajita worked with the National AIDS Control Organization to support the scaling up of interventions for high risk groups, prior to which, she was a consultant in McKinsey & Company's New York office for three years, serving media, retail and telecommunications clients. Aparajita completed her A.B. in Government (Magna Cum Laude) and her M.B.A. with distinction, at Harvard University and Harvard Business School, respectively.

At Wellcome Trust, Dr. Shirshendu Mukherjee manages R&D for a £30 million Initiative titled ‘Affordable Healthcare in India.’ The Initiative funds translation research leading to affordable healthcare solutions in India and beyond. Shirshendu has over 20 years of R&D experience with pharmaceutical companies and research at institutions such as Ranbaxy, Becton Dicknson, JK Drugs and Pharmaceuticals, International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB). He is a law graduate, holds a Ph.D in Microbiology, and has also completed an Advance Course in Strategy Management from IIM Kolkata.

In 2014, he led a team exploring the potential for new low-cost primary health care and pharmacy models to serve the urban poor in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and other Indian states. Tom has worked with a number of pharmaceutical companies on marketing and launch strategies. He also led the team that produced the Rockefeller report ‘Job Creation through Building the Field of Impact Sourcing’, leading to the Digital Jobs Africa goal of impacting 1 million lives. Tom has a Mid-Career Masters in Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, and a B.A. from Cambridge University.

Dr. Pavitra Mohan founded Basic Health Care Services, a not-for-profit organization to promote models of high quality, low cost primary care health services in underserved areas, in 2012. Since January 2013, he has worked as Director, Health Services at the Aajeevika Bureau, setting up models of primary healthcare for migrant communities. He has served as faculty in paediatrics at Udaipur Medical College; coordinated research and child health programs at ARTH and has led child health and health systems at the UNICEF India Country Office. Pavitra holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery, a residency program in Pediatrics, and he earned a Doctor in Medicine from the University of Delhi. He also earned a Masters of Public Health from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Padmashree Dr. H Sudarshan is the Founder and Honorary Secretary of Karuna Trust, which works towards integrated rural development through health, education and livelihood security. Dr. Sudarshan has dedicated his life towards working for the upliftment of the Soliga tribal communities in Karnataka. In 1981, he set up the Vivekananda Girijana Kalyana Kendra, which has blossomed into a sustainable tribal development program with only a few peers in the country. He has shared his wide experience by volunteering with the Government in his Chairmanship of the Karnataka Governments’ Task Force on Health & Family welfare as well as leading a ‘battle’ against the ‘epidemic of corruption’ as the Vigilance Director of the Karnataka Lokayukta (Ombudsman). Dr. Sudarshan holds an MBBS Degree from Bangalore Medical College.

Dheeraj Batra is the Co-Founder and CEO of DLabs, a design-led business incubator based at the Indian School of Business. He is also the Co-Founder and Director at Arogya Finance, a revolutionary financing venture which lends to those who are unable to afford to pay for their healthcare expenses. Prior to Arogya, Dheeraj worked mostly at the intersection of Design and Entrepreneurship. He helped IDEO establish its India presence and also served as the Head of Business Design there. Before that, as a Director at Innosight Ventures, he was focused on building businesses in India. Dheeraj holds an MBA from the Wharton Business School and BS degrees in both Finance and Computer Science from the University of Maryland.

Ravichandran Natarajan heads the Corporate Relations and CSR initiatives of Narayana Health Group of hospitals. At Narayana Health, Ravichandran works on initiatives towards developing a low premium based micro-health insurance program to cover the rural and under privileged population, improve employability for socially disadvantaged and school drop-outs through the National Vocational Training Program in partnership with Government, NGOs and social organisations, establishment of eHealth Centres for technology-based primary healthcare in over 20 rural locations in partnership with Hewlett Packard. His areas of work encompass profit centre management, product development, training, market development strategies, project and programme management as well as customer acquisition and relationship management over the past 25 years. Ravichandran is a graduate of Madurai Kamaraj University.

Dr. Sanjeev K Chaudhry is an accomplished management professional, author and researcher. He is presently Managing Director of SRL Limited and Chairman of CSC Nutrigenomics PTE Limited, Singapore. He also serves on the Board of Directors of several companies and institutions in India and abroad. He was the South Asia head of DuPont Solae until June 2006, a position he held for eleven years. Prior to that, he served as the Chairman & Managing Director of Modern Food Industries and was the youngest person to head a Government of India company. He is currently Additional Mission Director, National Health Mission & Director (IEC) and Joint Secretary to Government Medical & Health Department, Jaipur. Niraj has been a recipient of several awards including the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in MGNREGA Implementation in 2009, Best Collector Award - 2009, State Award for First Highest Achievement in Rajasthan Family Planning Targets in 2010 and 2011, and a recipient of several National e-Governance awards. Dr. T Sundararaman

Dr. Sundararaman held the position of Executive Director, NHSRC in New Delhi between 2007 and 2014. During the time, he was also Member Secretary of the Sector Innovation Council for the Health Sector. He was Director of State Health Resource Center in Chhattisgarh where he provided technical guidance to launch a major community health worker program and strengthened its public health system between 2002 and 2007; he was a Professor of Internal Medicine at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) in Pondicherry between 1999 and 2002. Dr. Sundararaman has written over fifty books, in both popular communication and public health texts as well written a number of articles. He earned his MBBS and MD in Internal Medicine from JIPMER.

Dr. MotiLal Jain is a well-known name from the health sector in Rajasthan with special expertise in Public Health Management, Reproductive and Child Health and PPPs amongst several other areas. After retiring as the Director (Reproductive and Child Health), Department of Medical, Health and Family Welfare, Government of Rajasthan, Dr. Jain has served as a senior consultant with several eminent organisations such as IIHMR, UNICEF, MSI, etc. Dr. Jain has spoken and attended several national and international conferences and has received a number of state and national level awards. At USAID/India’s Health Office, Sheena provides significant leadership, overall strategic direction, and technical and program expertise for conceptualization, design, appraisal, execution, and performance management of USAID/India's health systems strengthening efforts. She leads the Health Systems Strengthening Division that manages a large and complex portfolio of $ 400 million over a five year period. Prior to joining USAID in 1995, she worked as a Senior Project Director at the Social and Rural Research Institute (SRI), which is a well established specialist social research unit of India's premier market research organization, Indian Market Research Bureau (IMRB). She has also worked as a Lecturer of Resource Management at Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi and served as a Project Coordinator for the UNICEF funded Sanitation Project. Sheena has a Masters degree in Community Resource Management and Extension from Delhi University.

Hilmi Quraishi is the Co-Founder of ZMQ - a global technology for development social enterprise based in India.
